Hustopečská Laťka qualified young athletes for    "Hustopečské Skákání"


Once again, Hustopeče will become the venue of the High Jump Meeting Hustopečské Skákání Agrotec 2020 with the presence of the world’s best athletes. One of the goals of this event is to motivate children to do sports.Therefore, young athletes from Hustopeče  were able to qualify for the Thursday’s(6th of February) competition of children and youth which will precede Saturday adult competition on 8thof February.

Children from local schools and sport clubs met this year at the "Hustopečská Laťka". "We have a total of eight categories from the youngest children to adolescents, and there are about a hundred children competing today. In addition to the qualification for Hustopečské Skákání, they also fight for the title of the Champion of Hustopeče," explains the competition director  Zbyněk Háder.

Among the expected winners were mainly the athletes from SK Athletics Hustopeče, but anyone else who has demonstrated sufficient high jump skills could make it to the Thursday’s competition too. There will be very strong opponents at Hustopečské Skákání this year "On Thursday the winners will compete with the high jumpers from the whole district, i.e. mainly with the schools in Břeclav and Valtice, and also athletes from the South Moravian region. This year we even have representatives from North Moravia, Olomouc and one from Bohemia," adds  Zbyněk Háder.

After a long competition, 30 athletes managed to qualify. Jakub Jordán won in the youth category with his PB 147 cm and in the adolescent category the winner was Richard Pezlar (173 cm).

  • 10-11 years: Sára Guldanová (110 cm)
  • 12-13 years: Nikola Seďová (131 cm)
  • 14-15 years: Karin Krejčiříková (143 cm)
  • 16-17 years: Marie Vrbová (143 cm)


  • 10-11 years: Dominik Gloza (113 cm)
  • 12-13 years: Jakub Jordán (147 cm)
  • 14-15 years: Filip Mach (155 cm)
  • 16-17 years: Richard Pezlar (173 cm)

All nominees will be able to experience the atmosphere of the world-class competition next week and prepare audience for the world’s best high jumpers which will compete on Saturday.

"In the main categories we can look forward to see athletic stars such as Morgan Lake from the UK, Levern Spencer from Saint Lucia Island or Irina Geraschenko from Ukraine. Among the men there will be the world’s number one high jumper Maksim Nedasekau from Belarus or Donald Thomas and Jamal Wilson both from the Bahamas. The audience will also be able to see Sylwester Bednarek from Poland, Edgar Rivera from Mexico or Chris Baker from the UK. This year"s special guests are two High Jumping legends. The former World Champion Inge Babakova will come to Hustopeče with the young athletes she coaches. The main guest will be the world record holder, Olympic and World Champion Javier Sotomayor from Cuba, " says Háder. This year, the organizers expect a balanced fight that can bring many surprises.
